About this project

GetVector is an independent research project operated by the person named above. It measures how AI assistants recommend software products (Generative Engine Optimization). The interactive scan runs on the user's own AI provider API keys (Bring Your Own Key).

Privacy Policy — data protection at a glance

Controller

Lorenz Anton, Silcherstr. 12, 88499 Altheim, Germany · Email: [email protected]. The controller decides on the purposes and means of processing personal data on getvector.eu.

Email list (optional)

Using GetVector needs no account and no email. After a scan you may optionallyadd your email to get updates. It's double opt-in — you confirm via a link — and every email has a one-click unsubscribe; you can also write to [email protected]. We store only your email, only for these updates, and erase it the moment you unsubscribe. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR).

Your API keys (Bring Your Own Key)

Scans run on your own AI provider API keys (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Perplexity, DeepSeek). These keys are kept only in your browser's local storage — never on our servers.

When you run a scan, the keys are sent from your browser to our server and passed straight through to the respective AI provider solely to perform the analysis you requested. On our side they are processed transiently in memory and immediately discarded — never logged, never stored. The only persistent copy is the one in your own browser, which stays under your control and can be deleted by you at any time (or by clearing your browser data).

Scan data

When you submit a URL, we fetch that public page and analyze its content. The resulting scan (product summary, the generated questions, visibility scores and a running history for that URL) is stored on our server keyed by the URL in order to build the visibility trend over time. This is information about the scanned website, not about you, and it is not linked to any personal account.

Transfer to AI providers

To produce results, your scanned URL and the questions are sent to the AI providers whose keys you supplied. Those providers process the requests under their own privacy terms; your IP address is visible to them as part of standard internet communication.

Third-party integrations

GetVector can also be reached through third-party integrations. In that case your browser sends the scan request (URL, your keys and a monthly access code) directly to getvector.eu. The access code is validated on our server against a time-based formula; it is not personal data and is not stored.

Server logs & rate limiting

To protect the service against abuse, your IP address is processed temporarily in server memory for rate limiting. It is not written to any database and is not retained.

Local storage on your device

We store a small amount of data in your browser's local storage: your recent scan history, your API keys, and your access code (if you use a third-party integration). This never leaves your device except as described above. No tracking cookies are set.

Hosting

The service is self-hosted on a server located in the European Union.

Your rights (GDPR)

Even though we only store your email: you can access, correct or erase it, or object to its processing — just email [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
